Background
On May 22, 2020, Hammerco Lawyers filed a proposed class action in BC Supreme Court alleging that LinkedIn improperly used their user’s profile photo, name and job function to create customized ads for each member.
These “Dynamic Ads” are not displayed to other members. The proposed class action alleges that the Dynamic Ads were created without the express consent of users and amounts to a violation of various provincial privacy statutes.
