Background
On October 28, 2019, a proposed class action was filed against the City of Vancouver alleging that they hold fifteen lots, collectively known as the Hastings Sunrise Parking Lot, in trust for the owners of nearby properties.
The claim alleges that the City of Vancouver has continued with the proposed redevelopment of the parking lot without consent or acknowledgment of the rights of the Class Members and ultimately, does not have the legal authority to proceed with the redevelopment.
