A client who went to trial after a bad car accident has been awarded more than $789,000.

Ms. Ali sustained a disc injury in the crash and needed back surgery. She also suffered psychiatric injuries: depression and post-traumatic stress disorder.

The bulk of the compensation will cover loss of income. She has been unable to return to work as a salesperson and her prospects in the job market have been greatly reduced. The court agreed she has become less marketable to potential employers because of her injuries.

Ms. Ali was reimbursed for out-of-pocket expenses and compensated for future treatment and rehab costs.
