Apple Siri Privacy Class Action
Update
A case planning conference took place on January 23, 2026, to request assignment of a judge to manage the action. We will appear before our case management judge in due course to schedule the certification hearing.
Background
On February 21, 2025, Hammerco Lawyers, in conjunction with the London Ontario-based law firm of McKenzie Lake Lawyers LLP, initiated a class action lawsuit against Apple Inc. and Apple Canada Inc. (collectively, “Apple”), alleging that Apple recorded conversations of users of certain Apple devices equipped with Siri without their consent. Additionally, this action alleges that Apple has also been selling information from those recorded conversations to third-party marketers.
Class Membership Criteria
This proposed class action has been brought on behalf of: all persons in Canada (including their estates, executors, or personal representatives) who purchased and/or owned any Apple Device (i.e., iPhones, iPads, AirPod headphones, MacBook laptops and iMac computers, Apple Watches, and HomePod smart speakers) equipped with Siri from October 1, 2011 to present.
